Description	As the main social activity of students in the 19th century, members of the societies took great pride in their meeting room. The room was provided by the college but the literary society undertook the furnishing of the room themselves, often spending hundreds of dollars to do so. This Alpha Kappa Phi room was located in Central Hall.
